COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Update

The Public Library of New London continues to monitor the progression of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in our area.  We are relying on expert advice to ensure that the health and safety of our patrons, staff and volunteers remains our top priority.  Right now, the Library remains open to the public.
We have enacted the following precautions:

  • All materials must be returned to the outside book drops.  Books will be quarantine for 7 days and then checked in to your account.  The library will not be charging fines at this time.
  • The library will open its doors on Monday, July 13 for limited hours.  Curbside services still available.  Patrons can browse for items for check out.  Computer services available by appointment only.  History & Genealogy room closed at the moment.  Call the library for more information.
  • Curbside printing is now available.  Visit the Curbside Printing page for more info
  • Shelf To You Curbside pick up service begins July 8th.  You can request up to 5 items at a time.  Visit the Shelf to You Pick Up Service page for more information.
  • Online programs are now available for patrons on Facebook.  (www.facebook.com/PublicLibrary NL)
  • The library will be closed until further noticed.
  • All Book Drops are locked until further notice.  Please keep materials with you till the library opens.  No fines will be charged during this time.
  • All programs and meeting rooms use has been cancelled.
  • Toys in the children’s room are not available.  Please bring your own for your children to play with.
  • Drinking water fountains are not working at the moment.
  • Our maintenance personnel is cleaning and sanitizing high traffic areas.
  • CDC fliers (Center for Disease Control) are posted and are available for patrons at the Information and Circulation desk.
  • Book donations will not be collected until further notice.
  • Patrons are encouraged to stay home if they are not feeling well.

As an added service to our community, if your library card is about the expired please give us a call.  We will extend your expiration date for 3 months.  This will allow you to continue to enjoy our library services from home.  You can reach us at 860-447-1411.
