Summer Stories
Birth to 6 Years Old
Mondays @ 10:30 AM
June 19 – August 21

Introduce your child to pre-literacy skills in this interactive program. There will be books, songs, rhymes, movement activities and more. This program will help teach children a love of reading and will offer parents/caregivers early literacy tips to use at home. There will be a playgroup immediately following the story time. All books read can be counted towards the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program! No registration is required.

Home School Curriculum Swap
Monday, August 7
2:00 – 3:00 PM

Stop by the library to swap your old home school curriculum for something new! Home schooling families are invited to bring their used materials and trade for something different and new. This is a great way to meet home schooling families in the area, share ideas/questions and look at library resources.

 Tech Tuesday
Tuesday, August 22  at 1:30 PM
3rd to 6th graders

Children are invited to come to special technology program. This month we will learn how to construct simple machines such as pulley and levers, out of common items like popsicle sticks and recycled paper towel rolls. Then we will build a marble run obstacle course. Space is limited, registration is required.

Children in 1st to 6th grade are invited to participate in building activities every Friday.

 Under the Sea Finale with Mystic Aquarium
Friday, August 25

10:30 AM – Coral Reef Community

Children in grades 1-3 will be introduced to one of the fascinating “neighborhoods” found beneath the waves. They will discover that many sea creatures work together, while others have interesting adaptions that keep them at the top of the food chain.

11:30 AM – Amazing Sharks

Children in grades 4-6 will learn about fascinating shark adaptations, the challenges they must overcome for survivals and the conservation efforts underway to protect them.

Children 18 and younger are invited to enjoy a free meal every Monday-Friday from 1:00pm to 1:30pm. These meals are provided by End Hunger Connecticut.

August 23: Inside Out

Join us every Wednesday at 1:00pm for lunch and a family movie! All movies are rated G or PG and lunch will be provided for children. Free lunch is limited to the first 20 children, families are invited to bring in their own lunch or snacks. Parents are required to stay in the room with their child.

Join Ms. Christa every Thursday at 1:30pm for an art activity centered around building a better world.

Dancin with Hoops

Children of all ages

Children of all ages are invited to join Ms. Judi and dance with hula hoops! This musically interactive hula hoop program is designed to inspire and ignite creative movement, self-expression, play and laughter. Custom hula hoops will be available for use for all ages.
