PROGRAMS FOR BIRTH TO 5 YEAR OLDS

MOMS Club Open House with UConn KIDS
Friday, May 4 @ 10:30 AM

The MOMS Club of New London and UConn K.I.D.S presents Dr. Beth Russell from the University of Connecticut’s Department of Human Development and Family Studies. Dr. Russell will give a presentation that will center on executive function and self-regulation in children. Children’s early experience shape their behavior across childhood and into early adulthood. Parents who have children birth to five years old are invited to this free presentation.

Read, Sing, Play
Birth to 5 years old
Mondays @ 10:30  AM

Children birth to 5 years old are invited to join Mrs. Michele every Monday morning at 10:30 am for story time fun. There will be songs, stories, rhymes, movement activities, and more! Following the story time there will be a craft and open play. This program will help teach children a love of learning and will offer parents/caregivers early literacy tips to use at home. There will be no program on May 21 and May 28.

Bilingual Story Time
Birth to 5 years old
Tuesdays @ 10:30  am

Children birth to 5 years old are invited to join Ms. Margarita every Tuesday morning at 10:30 am for a bilingual story time. We will share stories, songs, and more in English and Spanish. This program is great for Spanish speaking families and families who are interested in learning Spanish. There will be no program on April 17.

Creative Movement
Ages 3 to 5 years old
Thursday, May 17 @ 10:30  am

The Eastern Connecticut Ballet is hosting a monthly Creative Movement program for children 3 to 5 years old. This program will be held at 10:30 am on the third Thursday of every month. This 45 minute program is an introduction to creative movement. During class we will read a story and then do 35 minutes of movement around the theme. Children must sign up for this program, space is limited. To register call the Children’s Room at 860-447-1411.

Wednesdays at 4:00 pm

Children in K – 2nd grade are invited to join Ms. Samantha for an after-school snack, story and activity every Wednesday. If you child has any food allergies please call the Children’s Room.

Tween Thursday
3rd – 6th graders
Thursdays at 4:00 pm

Children in 3rd – 6th grade are invited to join Ms. Ty for an after-school snack and activity every Thursday. If you child has any food allergies please call the Children’s Room.

Star Wars Day Craft
Friday, May 4
2:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Children of all ages can drop in at the library between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm to make a Yoda or Princess Leia headband in honor of Star Wars Day! No registration required, all materials provided. May the fourth be with you!

Make & Take Craft
Saturday, May 5
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Come get crafty at the library. Stop by anytime between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to make a craft and take it home. No registration is required, all age are welcome.

Brick Builders
Saturday, May 12
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
5 to 12 year olds

Love to build? Then join the Brick Builders! Children ages 5 to 12 years old can visit anytime between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to make their own LEGO® creation. The creations will be put on display in the library until the next meeting.
