Cartooning with Jason Deeble

Don’t miss out on this special Connecticut Humanities Cartooning Workshop for kids in 5th to 8th grade! Come see how heroic characters and stories come to life in this hands-on workshop with author/illustrator Jason Deeble. All you need is your imagination. You must register for this program in advance, space is limited.

Make & Take Craft
Saturday, December 2

Come get crafty at the library! Stop by anytime between 11am and 1pm to make a craft and take it home. This month we be making paper plate scarecrows! This program will be held on the first Saturday of every month.

 Brick Builders
Saturday, December 9
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
5 to 12 year olds

Love to build? Then join the Brick Builders! Children ages 5 to 12 years old can visit anytime between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to make their own LEGO® creation. The creations will be put on display in the library until the next meeting. This program will be held on the 2nd Saturday of every month.

Read to a Therapy Dog

11:30 AM – 1:30 PM

Come meet Ella, a therapy dog, and read her a story! Please call to sign up for a 15 minute time slot, space is limited.

Movie & Munchies
Saturday, December 16

Join us at 11:00am for a family movie! All movies are rated G or PG and a snack for children will be provided. Parents are required to stay in the room with their child. Families are invited to bring in their own lunch or snacks. This program will be held on the third Saturday of every month. This month we will be watching The Polar Express. Feel free to wear your cozy pajamas for this wonderful holiday classic.

Cookie Decorating
Saturday, December 17
1:30 PM- 3:30 PM

Children of all ages are invited to visit the Children’s Room between 1:30pm and 3:30pm to decorate cookies, while supplies last.

Home School Board Game Meet-Up
Tuesday, December 19
12:30 PM – 2:00 PM

All home school families are invited to join us for a fun afternoon of board games! Stop in anytime between 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm to play a variety of games. All ages are welcome.

Winter BINGO
Friday, December 29
10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Children of all ages are invited to visit the library between 10:30am and 11:30am to play BINGO! Spend your Holiday Break winning prizes at the library.

Countdown to Noon

Children of all ages are invited to come celebrate the New Year! We will get ready to ring in the New Year with a story, a New Year resolution, a craft, activities and counting down to noon.

Kwanzaa Family Event
Saturday, December 30 @ 2:00 PM

Come join Adwoa Bandele-Asante for a Kwanzaa celebration for the whole family! Whether you celebrate Kwanzaa or would like to learn more, please feel free to attend. Crafts, games, singers and players of instruments shall entertain and the “Karamu” feast will close out this event.
