Creative Movement
Ages 3 to 5 years old
Thursday, July 19 at 10:30am

The Eastern Connecticut Ballet is hosting a monthly Creative Movement program for children 3 to 5 years old. This 45 minute program is an introduction to creative movement. During class we will read a story and then do 35 minutes of movement around the theme. Children must sign up for this program, space is limited. To register call the Children’s Room at 860-447-1411.

Summer Stories
Birth to 5 years old
Mondays at 10:30am

Children birth to 5 years old are invited to join Mrs. Michele every Monday morning at 10:30 am for story time fun. There will be songs, stories, rhymes, movement activities, and more! Following the story time there will be a craft and open play. This program will help teach children a love of learning and will offer parents/caregivers early literacy tips to use at home.

 Tech Tuesday
Tuesday, July 17 at 1:30pm
3rd to 6th graders

Children in 3rd to 6th grade are invited to a special technology program. Each month we will explore something different. Space is limited, registration is required. You can register for the program here or by calling the Children’s Room at (860)447-1411 x 4.

Kids Yoga with Katie Ziskind

Let your child’s creative energy run wild and explore their mind, body and spirit! Families with children of all ages can have a great time learning breathing techniques, meditation, self-awareness and healthy movement. No yoga experience is needed. Please bring your own yoga mat if you have one, we have a limited supply of mats.

Summer Meals
Monday – Friday
1:00pm – 1:30pm
Children 18 and younger

Children 18 and younger can visit the library every Monday – Friday between 1:00pm and 1:30pm to get a free, nutritious meal. All meals are provided by End Hunger Connecticut. The meals will be served and must be eaten in the Children’s Room. On Wednesdays the meals will be served in the Community Room during Movie & Munchies.

Families with children of all ages are invited to join us for a family friendly movie! All movies are rated G or PG and lunch for kids will be provided. This Summer we are showing movies based on books! Make sure to check out the book from the library before or after watching the film. Free lunch will be provided for children age 18 and younger and is limited to the first 15 children. Families are invited to bring in their own lunch or snacks. Parents are required to stay in the room with their child.

Rock ‘n’ Read
Fridays at 1:30pm

Children of all ages can join us every Friday for a rocking activity. Every week there will be something different. You can look forward to music, games, crafts and more!
